Depending on the rainfall and Mother Nature, the area is covered in colourful displays of wild-flowers from August to early October. From here inland areas such as Clanwilliam, Van Rhynsdorp and Namaqualand can be visited, all within a few hours' drive from Lambert's Bay.

Visit Bird Island, an internationally famous breeding site for the Cape gannet colony, the only breeding site of only 6 sites worldwide that is easy accessible to the public, and the hides are so positioned that vositors litterally come eyeball to eyeball with these blue-eyed birds. Other bird species such as White breasted cormorants, Common terns, Cape cormorants, Hartlaub's gulls and kelp gulls, as well as Cape fur seals can be seen.

Go fishing and crayfishing (Lambert's Bay is known as the crayfish mecca of South Africa; the annual Crayfish Festival takes place in April)

Go on a boat trip for a close-up view of whales and Heaviside's dolphins.

Visit the Elandsberg Rooibos Tea Plantation (approx. 45km)

Do a game drive and visit rock art sites at Donkieskraal potato and game farm (approx. 45km)

Visit the art gallery on Steenbokfontein historical farm right next to Grootvlei Guest Farm

Enjoy a meal at one of the open-air restaurants in the area, such as the unique and famous Muisbosskerm (right next to Grootvlei farm) and Bosduifklip (to meet and â "lang-arm" dance with the locals), as well as restaurants in Lamberts' Bay.

Experience the cultural history of the area at the Sandveld Museum in the village and nearby local farms such as Wadrift
